Join Conservation Volunteers New Zealand this Conservation Week at The Brookby Wildlife Habitat Trust. This is an exciting restoration project located on the Auld Farm in Brookby near Ardmore. With the help of the local community and volunteer groups the Brookby Wildlife Habitat Trust is returning fragile wetlands back to their natural state and ensuring the survival of the very unique creatures that call this special environment home.

The project will improve the water quality of the catchment and also the Papakura Stream, increase plant biodiversity and the endemic wildlife and aquatic life in and around the stream as well as providing a good food source for the now abundant birdlife, birds such as tuis and wood pigeons, insects and lizards.
This is a very beautiful spot with significant native forests adjoining the site. The new habitat will provide a link to the 70 acres of land already fenced off on the farm, this is where the existing birdlife will venture as new feeding ground. On both of these day we will be working with young native seedlings in the nursery, grown from locally sourced seeds which will be planted back into the protect areas to boost the areas biodiversity. You can join for one or both days. We’d love to have your help.

All tools and equipment are provided and we even provide transportation to all our projects from our office in Eden Terrace. You can also choose to meet on site.

It's free to come along but bookings are essential.
To sign up or to find out more about this or our other projects, please contact us on 0800 56 76 86 or [email protected].
