SlowRiders: Hanmer Springs
Sat, 18th Feb, Quarter Day Or Less, Hanmer Springs, NZ
Description
Hey all,
Hanmer Springs have some great tracks to explore. Let's go!
Options are drive up and meet on the day at the bottom of Clarence Valley Road in Hanmer, or like us… you could get a house for a couple of nights. This is a great option if you like the idea of 'adult refreshments' after your ride and soak in the pools.
Carpooling is an idea, and this can be arranged either privately or within this event if you got no friends. ;)
These are grade 2, 3 (and some parts 4, due to a little outside edge exposure) trails but should be easily negotiated for our regular SlowRiders. If you are able to handle our normal Wednesday night rides, you should be good to go!
FULL DISCLOSURE: I've only ridden these trails twice, and we might get a little lost at some stage, I'm 99% sure we'll be fine though… :D (I will have a map and phone etc for the ride)
As always, we have the option of stopping on the trail to discuss technique and line choices to get though/around obstacles. Let us know well before the section so we can have someone help out :)
We'll then meet up at the pools to rest our legs and get some refreshments etc to help with rehydration.
This is a public and social ride, but be responsible for yourself by packing a basic first aid kit, some tools, an extra layer of clothes and some snacks. Leave the race mentality at home, relax, chill, chat, encourage everyone and have some fun :)
As this is an 'away' ride, we'll be taking names and phone numbers for you and your emergency contacts, just in case.
This ride is also advertised with our friends at the Canterbury Mountain Bike Club (www.cmbc.nz)
